EMBROIDERED MAXI + SELF-LOVE
Hi Friends!
I hope that all of you are doing well! I want to have a quick screen to screen (heart to heart through the computer screen) with you all! It has been some time and I miss writing these so they are back! I also want to share this beautiful maxi with you all, so keep reading!
Self-Love is something I have been working on for quite some time now and I wish I could say it was a one time done deal but it isn’t. It is like any other relationship in this world, you have to work at it and you have to work to maintain it.
The relationship you have with yourself is a constant work in progress and I have come to realize that it always will be. This is why I think Self-Love is so important! I feel like we always focus so much on maintaining relationships with others, whether that is our mom, dad, brother, friends, significant other, etc., but do we focus on our relationship with ourselves?
I never thought to realize that I need to spend time developing and maintaining a positive relationship with myself as well! Afterall, I am important to me (sounds narcissistic but it really isn’t).
Below are 3 reasons why I think Self-Love is important and why I think our relationship with ourselves is important.
1) Self-Acceptance
Self- love has helped me accept who I am. It has helped me accept my good qualities and my bad qualities. It has helped me realize that I do not need to compare myself to others because who I am is good enough for me. I do not ignore the bad qualities, rather I accept them and realize that I have to work on improving those. I don’t need validation from anyone but myself because I am good enough for myself.
2) Self-Condemnation
Self-Love has helped me move away from putting myself down. It has helped me move away from only focusing on the things I don’t think I am good at or lack and rather focus on what I do have. I think sometimes (more than others) we tend to put ourselves down but when you build a strong loving relationship with yourself, you may find yourself doing that less often.
3) Change in Perception
I have heard so many people say, if you love yourself, you can love others. I could not agree more! I think ever since I got into this mindset of wanting to build a better and loving relationship with myself, I have realized that the world around me has changed. I am a happier person, my personal relationships with others have improved and my outlook in life has been more positive. A strong loving world around me starts with a strong loving relationship with myself.
I would love to share what exactly I have done to build a stronger, positive and more loving relationship with myself if you guys would like! Maybe I will save it for a different post 🙂
Now let’s get to this gorgeous and colorful embroidered Maxi!! I got it on super sale from Anthropologie recently!! I wore it in Bogota on a visit to Monserrate.
It blended with the scenery quite well! It is extremely comfortable, flows beautifully and has tie waist so you can adjust to your liking! Reading its description said it is inspired by the colors of Jodhpur and I believe it!! I wish I could have worn it while actually in Jodhpur but Bogota is quite colorful itself so it worked out!
Dress – Anthropologie ( Select sizes left, dress marked down to under $70)
Bag – Century 21 (sold out)// Option 1// Option 2

Before I say goodbye, I want to ask you, what do you think of Self-Love? Do you think it’s important?
Until next time….
